Job Description
The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the residential program and ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for residents and staff. This role supervises Lead Direct Support Professionals (LDSPs) and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring quality services, regulatory compliance, and effective program operations.
The Residential Manager models professional behavior, supports staff development, and ensures residents receive services that promote independence, well-being, and stability.
This is a full-time hourly position (40 hours/week) eligible for overtime with approval. Flexibility is required to respond to emergencies, staffing needs, and program demands.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Residential OperationsOversee day-to-day operations of the residential site(s)
Ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for residents
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations
Monitor documentation and service delivery in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Ensure completion of fire drills, safety checks, and inspections
Manage program budgets, overtime, and scheduling
Directly supervise Lead Direct Support Professionals and Direct Support Professionals
Provide coaching, training, and performance oversight
Manage staff schedules and ensure proper staffing ratios
Conduct onboarding, in-home orientation, and competency-based training
Monitor staff training compliance and documentation
Support residents in daily living skills, independence, and community integration
Assist with personal care, household activities, and recreational engagement
Coordinate and attend medical appointments when needed
Monitor medications and ensure staff compliance with medication administration requirements
Respond to crises and behavioral incidents in accordance with agency policy
Advocate for residents and connect them with community resources
Review progress notes and ensure documentation accuracy
Maintain resident files and program records according to regulatory standards
Monitor employee timekeeping and payroll systems
Communicate behavioral changes, incidents, and concerns to leadership
Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or residential services
Supervisory experience preferred
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of driving history
Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Criminal Background Check required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Access to a personal vehicle with state minimum insurance
CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required upon hire
Strong leadership and team supervision skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of residential care regulations and compliance standards
Crisis intervention and behavioral support skills
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Basic computer proficiency including email, documentation systems, and timekeeping software
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing, bending, walking, and driving
Ability to assist residents with mobility and daily living activities
Work may occur across multiple residential locations
