In this impactful role, you’ll work under the guidance of our Environmental Superintendent or Environmental Manager to ensure all operations meet and exceed local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permit requirements. You’ll play a key part in safeguarding the environment while supporting the successful execution of critical projects.
This is more than a compliance role, it’s an opportunity to lead. You’ll provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership across environmental programs and projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including construction and inspection crews. You’ll also mentor and coordinate environmental technicians, helping to drive high performance and a strong culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Requirements:What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our operations meet environmental standards while supporting safe, efficient project delivery. You’ll:
- Lead environmental compliance efforts, ensuring all activities meet regulatory and company standards
- Manage environmental permits, including monitoring, inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping
- Partner with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to keep projects on track and compliant
- Coordinate permitting activities to support project timelines and operational goals
- Oversee environmental monitoring systems and analyze data to ensure compliance
- Build strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, site teams, and community stakeholders
- Lead or support environmental projects, including contractor and consultant coordination
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance with environmental policies and systems
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations
- Provide environmental training and guidance to site personnel
- Mentor junior team members and, when needed, serve as a project manager or technical lead
- Support continuous improvement through planning, reporting, and problem-solving
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Knowledge of environmental compliance, spill response, and hazardous waste management
- Willingness to work flexible hours and in a remote camp environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- 7+ years of environmental experience, ideally in heavy construction, mining, or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and industry environmental regulations
- Experience with compliance tracking systems or databases
- Ability to lead teams and manage work activities effectively
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel and work on-site at remote project locations
