Summary (Major Purpose of the Role)

The Senior Director, Total Rewards is a senior HR leader responsible for the strategy, design, governance, and delivery of total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS, with a primary focus on North America. This role ensures programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business and financial objectives, while supporting global reward initiatives and advising executive leadership.

Main Activities/Responsibilities

Total Rewards Leadership

  • Lead total rewards strategy across compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS
  • Advise executive leadership on market competitiveness and program effectiveness
  • Lead and develop teams across compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems
  • Support M&A integration and harmonization of rewards programs

Benefits

  • Oversee all North America benefits programs, including retirement and health & welfare
  • Partner with Fiduciary Committee and vendors on governance, plan design, and administration
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., 5500 filings, ACA, plan documentation)
  • Lead Open Enrollment, employee communications, and cost management
  • Oversee vendor management, billing, audits, and Canadian benefits programs

Compensation Planning & Incentives

  • Lead annual compensation processes (merit, bonus, and salary structure administration)
  • Design, manage, and forecast incentive plans in partnership with Finance
  • Conduct benchmarking and maintain competitive pay structures
  • Provide analytics and guidance for pay decisions and compensation policy

Payroll

  • Oversee multi-entity payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Lead payroll team and coordinate audits (including 401(k) and Workers’ Compensation)
  • Ensure accuracy of benefit deductions, contributions, and reconciliations


HRIS & Systems Leadership

  • Lead ADP HRIS strategy, integration, and optimization across North America
  • Oversee system configuration, including benefit plan setup, workflows, and validation tables
  • Ensure integration across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and time & attendance systems
  • Manage system enhancements, new module implementations, and organizational expansions
  • Oversee data integrity, reporting, and workforce analytics (e.g., headcount, attrition)
  • Serve as liaison with ADP and vendors to resolve system issues and improve functionality
  • Manage system security, access controls, and governance
  • Support HRIS configuration for benefit plan changes, carrier integrations, and payroll impacts

Performance Management

  • Oversee performance management systems within HRIS
  • Manage performance cycles, calibration, and training
  • Support a culture of performance-driven results

Analytics, Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Canadian regulations (e.g., ACA, EEO, pay data reporting)
  • Partner with Finance on payroll budget planning and program effectiveness analysis
  • Develop and monitor total rewards and workforce metrics

Competencies

  • Deep expertise in total rewards strategy, HRIS (ADP), and data analytics
  • Strong leadership in complex, matrixed environments
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and manage cross-functional stakeholders

Reporting Relationships and Supervision

  • Reports to: CHRO
  • Oversees benefits, compensation, payroll, and HR systems teams

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or HR certification preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems
  • Strong experience with HRIS platforms (ADP preferred), integrations, and system governance

Pursuant to New York law, Drive Medical provides a salary range in job advertisements. The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $225,000.00 per year. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors such as the applicant’s experience, specialization, education, as well as the company’s requirements. The provided salary range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits which may be offered to the applicant, if eligible according to the company’s policies.
