Role:
Assists members with mortgage loan requests. Provides clerical and administrative support to process and close member mortgage loans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Reviews loan application/preliminary documentation after loan officer approval. Obtains personal and financial information. Ensures data is complete and meets Credit Union standards.
- Gathers and organizes required supporting documents for loan closings. Coordinates appraisals. Verifies and examines documents for accuracy and completeness. Submit files for underwriting approval. Refers the loan to Real Estate Loan Officer for review.
- Gathers additional data needed for underwriting, including but not limited to, income/assets/credit, valuation, title work.
- Contacts members to set up appointments for loan closings.
- Disburses loan funds. Files loan documents with appropriate agencies.
- Prepares real estate loan modifications.
- Enters and maintains accurate loan information on computer operating system and required reports for management.
- Handles correspondence with members for various situations throughout mortgage process - appraisal, docs to sign, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.
Produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion, with minimal unresolved errors.
2.
Accurately close, organize and complete member loan files within timely manner.
3.
Assist and support lenders to meet or exceed department and TruStar goals.
4.
Provide friendly, accurate, professional service to members and associates by responding to messages and correspondence within 48 hours.
5.
Develop and maintain knowledge of all mortgage policies and regulations within the Credit Union and from the mortgage industry.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills
General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Talks to others to convey information effectively.
Physical Requirements
FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
TALKING: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
REPETITIVE MOTION: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
