Youth Peer Advocate – Southbury

The Youth Peer Advocate position will function as a member of the Prevention Department at the McCall Behavioral Health Network. The peer advocate will be a key member of the Partnerships for Success 2023 underage drinking prevention initiative within the town of Southbury, Connecticut. The position is paid at a rate of $18 an hour with an allotment of 8 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible.

Part-time / Non-Exempt

8 hours weekly / $18.00/hour

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a Region 15 school or are a resident of Southbury or Middlebury Connecticut.
  • Between the ages of 16 and 24.
  • Strong interest in substance abuse prevention.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must display interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations, including but not limited to youth, schools, law enforcement and community leaders.
