Ohio's Hospice is seeking a full-time Personal Care Specialist (CNA) to join our inpatient team at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. In this role, you'll work alongside nurses and interdisciplinary team members to provide hands-on care and support to patients receiving end-of-life care. Schedule- Full-Time
- 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Located within the inpatient hospice unit at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
As a Personal Care Specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping patients remain comfortable while supporting families during an important stage of life.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
- Providing compassionate, patient-centered support that promotes comfort and dignity
- Observing and reporting changes in patient condition to the clinical team
- Assisting with daily living activities and comfort measures
- Documenting care accurately and timely
- Collaborating with nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other team members
- Building trusting relationships with patients and families through compassionate care
- High school diploma or GED
- Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification preferred
- Previous healthcare, caregiving, CNA, hospice, long-term care, or hospital experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements
- One year of patient care experience
- Interest in hospice and palliative care
- CHPNA certification or willingness to pursue certification with employer support
