Set-Up Technician (Plastics)

We’re looking for a Set-Up Technician in Gainesville, GA who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in machine performance, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to grow your technical skills while supporting critical production operations.
Shift:
- 2nd (2:55pm-11:05pm) plus $1 shift diff.
Responsibilities
- Perform machine set-ups, changeovers, and operate equipment to support production needs
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on machines and related equipment
- Monitor machine performance, verify programs, and ensure operation within process parameters
- Load/unload machines, handle materials, and support production flow and reporting
- Follow safety, quality, and environmental standards (LOTO, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, IQI, and 6IMS); maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred)
- Vocational or Certificate Training: desired
Skills & Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and use measurement devices
- Basic computer skills (MS Office); ERP/CRM experience a plus
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail; reliable attendance and teamwork
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and moving parts
- Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toe shoes
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 60 lbs (additional lifting assisted by equipment)
- Push/pull up to 250 lbs using material handling equipment
- Constant standing, walking, and use of hands/fingers
- Frequent bending, reaching, and overhead movement
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and working in tight or elevated spaces
