Senior UX/UI Designer (Design Systems)

Role: Senior UI/UX Designer - Design Systems
Rate: $55/hour W2
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite)

We are seeking a Senior UI Designer with a focus on Design Systems to support the evolution and scalability of a shared design system across enterprise digital products. This role is not a traditional UX/product design position. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience building reusable UI components, maintaining design system standards, and supporting adoption across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and evolution of a component-based design system in Figma
• Design and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, and libraries
• Ensure UI consistency and standardization across multiple products and teams
• Collaborate closely with engineering to align design components with development implementation
• Contribute to design system documentation and usage guidelines
• Assist in enforcing design system governance and best practices across teams
• Work within component-driven, modular design environments
• Ensure accessibility standards (WCAG) are incorporated into system components

Required Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design
• Proven experience working within or contributing to design systems
• Strong proficiency in Figma (components, libraries, layouts)
• Experience creating or maintaining reusable UI components and patterns
• Strong understanding of UI consistency, scalability, and standardization
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on component implementation
• Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility (WCAG)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to or helping build a design system across multiple teams or products
• Familiarity with design system documentation tools (Storybook, Zeroheight, etc.)
• Exposure to design tokens or scalable UI architecture (nice to have, not required)
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS (for collaboration purposes)
