About the Role:
Join CROSS COUNTY MEDICAL CARE as a Medical Coder in Bellerose, NY, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate coding for patient records. Be part of a dedicated team that values precision and integrity in healthcare documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, including ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide support for billing and reimbursement processes as needed.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical coding, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficient in coding software and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) a plus
