Job Description
Looking for a strong .NET developer for long hybrid contract opportunity. Project: Application is the original ASP.NET application that runs critical child care licensing and program eligibility workflows for the State of Georgia. We are actively modernizing it — lifting to .NET 8+, rearchitecting APIs, integrating Azure cloud services, and layering in React on the frontend. This is not a maintenance job. You will be the technical lead on that modernization, not a support resource. You will work on a small, focused team. That means you own what you build. You will design it, build it, test it, deploy it, document it, and support it in production. If you need someone to hand you tickets and watch over your shoulder, this is the wrong role.
Application Modernization (Core of this Role)
- Lead the migration of legacy ASP.NET applications to ASP.NET MVC and .NET 8/.NET 10
- Refactor application architecture for maintainability, performance, and cloud readiness
- Design and evolve RESTful APIs — not just maintain them
- Develop and support Azure Function Apps and cloud-hosted services on Azure App Services
- Own SQL Server database work: schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, data cleanup, and version upgrades Frontend & Integration
- Build and maintain React-based UI components as part of the modernization roadmap.
Pay is $68 hr
