Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Neurologist provides neurological consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with neurological conditions, traumatic brain injuries, post-concussion syndrome, chronic headaches, vestibular disorders, chronic pain, and work-related injuries. This role exists to support the growth of a comprehensive neurology practice within Pain and Rehabilitative Consultants Medical Group’s multidisciplinary care model. The Neurologist works closely with PM&R physicians, neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, physical therapists, administrative teams, and patients to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide neurological consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing management of patients with neurological conditions.
- Evaluate and treat patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), concussion, and post-concussion syndrome.
- Assess and manage cognitive, headache, vestibular, and neurological symptoms following brain injury.
- Review diagnostic studies, medical records, clinical history, and relevant documentation to support treatment planning.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient needs, and interdisciplinary recommendations.
- Collaborate with neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, physical therapists, PM&R physicians, and other care team members within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation model.
- Participate in return-to-work planning, functional restoration planning, and care coordination for injured workers.
- Attend multidisciplinary case conferences, treatment team meetings, and collaborative care discussions as needed.
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and recommendations in accordance with PRCMG standards and regulatory requirements.
- Travel to other clinic locations as needed to support patient care and organizational operations.
Qualifications Required (Education, Experience, AND Skills)
- Current and unrestricted California Medical License required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology required.
- Interest in brain injury medicine, concussion management, cognitive rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary care required.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment required.
- Experience treating traumatic brain injury, post-concussion syndrome, headache disorders, vestibular dysfunction, and cognitive complaints preferred.
- Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance required.
PREFERRED
- Experience working within a workers’ compensation, occupational medicine, rehabilitation medicine, or interdisciplinary healthcare setting.
