About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to provide maternity leave coverage for an elementary school in Oxford, Connecticut. This full-time assignment will support PreK through 2nd-grade students and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical stage of student development.
The selected candidate will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and support staff to provide assessment services, counseling support, and special education compliance activities. This role also includes participation as a member of the school's crisis response team.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and complete comprehensive evaluation reports
Manage and support assigned student counseling cases
Finalize and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Participate in eligibility, PPT, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers
Provide consultation regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Serve as a member of the school's crisis intervention and response team
Support student success through data-driven recommendations and interventions
Qualifications
Required
Valid Connecticut School Psychologist certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain certification
Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and writing evaluation reports
Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP development, and eligibility processes
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
Previous experience working with early childhood and elementary-aged students
Experience providing counseling services in a school setting
Familiarity with crisis response procedures and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Commitment to supporting diverse learners and inclusive educational practices
