Job Description
We are looking for a dependable Mail Services Associate to support day-to-day mailroom activities for a client site in San Francisco, CA. This Contract position is ideal for someone who works well in a structured environment, takes pride in accurate handling of incoming and outgoing mail, and can keep essential distribution processes running smoothly. The role involves providing organized mailroom support for a building or campus setting while maintaining efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily mailroom operations, including receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages across the assigned location.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by applying correct postage, packaging materials, and carrier documentation.
• Track accountable items such as certified, express, or registered mail to ensure secure handling and timely delivery.
• Maintain an orderly mailroom by monitoring supplies, organizing inventory, and keeping work areas clean and functional.
• Coordinate with delivery carriers, internal departments, and site personnel to support smooth mail flow throughout the facility.
• Operate standard mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and sorting tools in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with package logging, pickup requests, and delivery confirmation to support accurate records and service reliability.
• Previous experience in mail services, mailroom support, or general operations is preferred.• Working knowledge of basic mail handling procedures, shipping methods, and package distribution practices.
• Ability to stay organized, manage routine tasks efficiently, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable using standard office and mailroom equipment, including scanners and postage-related tools.
• Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented approach when interacting with coworkers, carriers, and building staff.
• Ability to lift and move mail trays, packages, or supply boxes within typical operational guidelines.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
