Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer - Per Diem - White Plains, New York

Our client is seeking a per diem Senior Perinatal Sonographer that is an experienced professional with strong collaboration and leadership skills. In this role, the incumbent will support a collaborative team of sonographers by providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship and supporting quality assurance and control activities. As a member of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine sonography team, the incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving ultrasound images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the ultrasound area.

About the role:

• Localize and recognize difference between health and pathological areas
  
• Judge whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
  
• Integrate diagnostic sonogram with patients' history, medical records and laboratory results
  
• Present and prepare preliminary ultrasound findings to attending physician for final report
  
• Maintain log of ultrasound test findings
  
• Assist the physician with patient care
  
• Explain the procedure to the patient, record medical history considered necessary and prepare patient for testing
  
• Collaboratively work with billing/secretarial staff with regards to authorizations/charges
  
• Provide coverage vacation/sick day coverage at other sites as needed
  
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program
  
• Candidate must be RDMS or RDMS registry eligible. RDMS eligible graduates from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program must be registered in OB/GYN within 12 months of employment. ARDMS credentials must be maintained yearly
  
• OB/GYN experience for a minimum of two (2) years
• MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) for a minimum of two (2) years
• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently, evaluate sonogram to acquire diagnostic information, communicate diagnostic information to physicians
