Program Overview
The Clinical Support Program will embed fully licensed professionals specializing in mental health, substance misuse, and intimate partner violence (IPV) directly into child protective work in Brooklyn. These clinicians will collaborate closely with the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) staff and families to assess needs, provide tailored service recommendations, and ensure families are connected to appropriate supports. By integrating clinical expertise into frontline decision-making, Rising Ground will play a vital role in enhancing child safety and strengthening family outcomes across the borough.
About the Role
The Clinician specializing in Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) provides direct clinical services and clinical guidance, training, and support to an ACS Child Protective Services (CPS) team. The clinician will work collaboratively with the CPS team, providing feedback on a family’s Intimate Partner Violence needs, assisting with referrals for subsequent IPV interventions and providing warm hand-offs to Brooklyn community based providers.
This position requires regular in-person presence at an ACS field office in Brooklyn or within the community of Brooklyn. Occasional travel to other agency sites or meetings may also be required.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct clinical work to families referred to Child Protective Services, including assessment of needs
- Actively participate in planning conferences, acting as Intimate Partner Violence expert
- Ensure that internal and external referrals are individualized and tailored to meet families’ needs, working collaboratively with our Access and Referral Department
- Ensure that warm handoffs occur in making referrals
- Facilitate trainings for the clinical team and the ACS CPS team
- Participate in all relevant internal and external meetings
- Provide after hour coverage for consultation, as needed
- Other duties as required
Your Qualifications
- Must have an active Clinical License not a Limited Permit (LMSW, LMFC, LCAT, LMHC)
- Experience/expertise working with families impacted by Intimate Partner Violence
- Experience and comfort with Evidence Based Models and multiple assessment measures
- Meaningful commitment to practicing from a healing-centered, family-driven, anti-oppressive stance
- Highly organized, self-motivated worker who can easily manage competing demands
- Creative problem-solver who anticipates challenges and seizes opportunities for collaboration

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday at a specified ACS Field Offices. Work hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with availability for after-hour consultation.
Additional Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
- Ability to travel and work in ACS field office in Brooklyn
- Ability to travel within the community and do visits
