About this job
Job Description
What we're looking for:
We need a senior civil litigator with 12+ years of practice experience who can independently manage a full litigation docket from day one. You should be comfortable in the courtroom with strong motion practice, discovery, and trial experience, and have a track record of handling complex commercial, real estate, and construction litigation matters. Bonus points if you bring experience in business torts, business dissolution litigation, or appeals.
What you'll do:
Own and manage a full civil litigation docket independently across the firm's practice areas (real estate, construction, commercial business, business torts, and general civil litigation)
Handle all phases of litigation including trial preparation, motion practice, discovery, and depositions
Work directly with the Managing Partner (Matt Taylor) and firm leadership on case strategy and client matters
Maintain high-quality, substantive client communication — the firm prioritizes a differentiated client journey with greater frequency and depth of attorney-client interaction
Contribute to the firm's growth by potentially developing new practice areas aligned with your expertise and interests
Meet a minimum billable requirement of 120 hours/month (1,440 annually) — significantly below BigLaw standards — with uncapped quarterly bonus opportunity for hours above the threshold
Why Taylor Law Offices:
Work-life balance is real here — attorneys are generally out by 5pm with no weekend work expected (except occasional trial prep)
Uncapped quarterly bonus — $130K–$150K base + $25K–$50K+ annually in formulaic bonuses based on hours and revenue above the 120hr/month minimum
No business development required — the firm invests ~$200K/year in marketing to bring in clients; book of business is welcome but not required
No consultation or pro bono requirements — a dedicated intake specialist handles all new client consultations
Non-equity partnership track available after 1–2 years of commitment (program currently being developed)
Founder-led firm in aggressive growth mode — Matt Taylor was named 2025 Idaho Business Review "Leader in Law" and the firm is scaling from 6 to 11+ attorneys by year-end
Low cost of living in Boise/Eagle, ID with total comp potential well over $200K
