Financial Accounting Analyst

An innovative consumer goods company in Carlsbad is experiencing tremendous growth and looking to add a Financial Accountant to its team. This role will own daily banking operations and marketplace accounting activities, a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with high-volume transactional data across multiple online sales channels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
• Analyze transactional activity and financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
• Partner with internal departments to research issues, improve data accuracy, and support operational initiatives.
• Record daily cash activity, including receipts, transfers, fees, and other banking transactions.
• Monitor cash balances and assist with treasury-related activities as needed.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation for audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with process improvements, documentation, and accounting controls to support a growing organization.
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Two or more years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Strong Excel skills, including working with large data sets and performing account analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience supporting high-volume transaction environments, consumer products, distribution, retail, or ecommerce organizations is preferred.
