Position Overview
One of our Partners in North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon for a short-term locum tenens opportunity covering 24-hour orthopedic call.
This assignment offers low call volume, onsite furnished housing, temporary privileges, and a predictable orthopedic trauma case mix. Providers will primarily manage consults, emergency department reductions, admissions, and common fracture cases while enjoying a highly manageable workload.
The facility provides individual hospital-owned apartments onsite, making this an excellent opportunity for providers seeking a short, well-compensated call assignment.
Assignment Highlights

- Approximately 0–2 ED reductions/admissions per day

- Active North Carolina license required
- Active North Carolina DEA required
- Provider must remain within 20 minutes of hospital while on call
- Medicare/Medicaid enrollment and PECOS registration required

Job Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour orthopedic call coverage
- Evaluate orthopedic consults
- Manage emergency department fracture reductions
- Perform orthopedic admissions
- Treat wrist, ankle, and hip fractures
- Perform irrigation and debridement procedures
- Coordinate transfers for long-bone trauma cases
- Document patient care within MediTech EMR
