Lathe Machinist - Now Hiring

Job Title: Lathe Machinist (1st Shift)
Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour (DOE)
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain manual and/or CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in machining tight-tolerance parts in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Select proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality production standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Document production activities and maintain accurate records as required

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a lathe machinist (manual and/or CNC preferred)
• Strong understanding of machining principles and shop math
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T basics
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Familiarity with different metals and machining materials
• Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
• Ability to work independently on 1st shift with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical training a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift up to 40–50 lbs as needed
• Work in a manufacturing/shop environment with noise, coolant, and metal chips
