Registered Nurse – ICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day and Night Shifts Available (12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM–6:30 PM / 6:30 PM–6:30 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU setting with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
- Manage and titrate a variety of drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
- Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac telemetry strips using GE monitoring equipment
- Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress, post-stent, pacemaker placement, and vascular cases
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
- Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
- Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills examination with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
- Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience with complex adult patient populations
- Experience titrating cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips in an acute care environment
- Familiarity with GE telemetry monitoring systems
- Work in a well-supported ICU environment with nurse aide assistance and respiratory therapy resources available
- Gain experience across a broad range of critical care diagnoses in an active, community-based hospital setting
