📌 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (frequent overtime available)

Join a well‑established fabrication shop where you’ll support welders and fabricators by grinding, smoothing, and prepping metal parts for finishing. If you’re comfortable with hand tools, enjoy physical work, and want a role where you can grow your skills, this is a great opportunity.
⭐ What You’ll Do- Grind and smooth welds on steel and stainless components using 4.5" and 7" grinders
- Remove weld splatter and defects to prepare parts for paint or final finishing
- Use abrasive tools like flapper wheels, sanding discs, and conditioning pads
- Polish metal surfaces through proper grit sequences
- Inspect parts for cracks, pits, or imperfections and tag items needing rework
- Deburr edges and create smooth, safe handling surfaces
- Assist with material handling including staging, loading, and moving steel pieces
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe in a busy industrial shop
- Experience using handheld grinders or similar power tools
- Comfortable working around welders, sparks, and metal debris
- Strong attention to detail when smoothing, buffing, or polishing
- Able to lift, move, and stage heavy steel parts
- Reliable, safety‑minded, and consistent with PPE
- Willing to learn, take direction, and support the team
- Basic welding knowledge or ability to spot weld defects
- Blueprint reading and understanding weld symbols
- Experience with oxy‑fuel or plasma cutting
- Familiarity with calipers, squares, and layout tools
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Understanding of 5S or lean shop practices
- Willingness to cross‑train in other departments

You’ll work in a large, active industrial shop with welders, grinders, cranes, and heavy steel components. Conditions vary (heat, cold, dust, sparks), and PPE is required at all times. The pace is steady and production‑focused, with a supportive crew that works together to hit deadlines.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
