Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical scheduling and manage all necessary facility documentation and clinical paperwork. The role involves facilitating end-to-end patient intake to optimize administrative efficiency. Acting as the primary liaison between physicians and facility staff, the Scheduler will handle the scheduling, rescheduling, or cancellation of procedures using designated protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates surgical scheduling and manages all required facility documentation and clinical paperwork.
- Facilitates end-to-end patient intake, capturing demographic and insurance data to minimize call transfers and improve administrative efficiency.
- Acts as a primary liaison between physicians and facility staff to schedule, reschedule, or cancel procedures via designated protocols.
- Manages urgent "add-on" cases by alerting relevant departments and processing reservations within strict timeframes.
- Directs high-volume communications, responding to inquiries via phone, intercom, and in-person regarding OR availability and scheduling.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience
- Proficient in EMR systems
- EPIC Experience (preferred)
Skills
- Proficient EMR Experience
- Great communication and organizational skills
