Position Overview

• Department: Cath Lab & IR (Cost Center 133)
\n
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
\n
• Call Required:\n
  \n
  • Weekdays: 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  \n
  • Average 15 call days/month (expected to decrease as permanent staff are hired)
  \n
  • Weekend Call: Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
  \n
  • Holidays covered through call rotation
  \n
\n

Submission Requirements\n

\n
• Only one submission per candidate across the entire WVU Health System
\n
• Candidate's Driver's License address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
\n
• Previous permanent employees: Must be separated for 2 years
\n
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year: Must also be away for 2 years
\n
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
\n
• Agency may submit only 2 candidates per opening
\n
• Any background issues must be disclosed at submission
\n
• Unexpired Driver's License is mandatory
\n
• COVID-19 vaccination required\n
  \n
  • Fully vaccinated = Pfizer/Moderna series or one J&J dose
  \n
  • Medical/Religious exemptions require prior approval
  \n
\n

Unit Information\n

• 7 procedure suites
\n
• 2 Cath Labs
\n
• Holding Area: 2 bays, 5 rooms
\n
• Average Cases: 4–5/day (range 2–9)
\n
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients only
\n

Common Procedures\n

\n
• Diagnostic heart caths
\n
• PCI
\n
• Peripheral vascular procedures
\n
• Pacemakers
\n
• ICDs
\n
• Structural cardiac procedures
\n
• No EP ablations
\n

Experience Required\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
\n
• Experience with:\n
  \n
  • Cardiac catheterization
  \n
  • PCI
  \n
  • Pacemakers
  \n
  • ICDs
  \n
  • Peripheral interventions
  \n
\n

Preferred Skills\n

\n
• IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) experience – Required
\n
• IVUS experience – Required
\n
• Familiarity with ACIST injector (preferred; training available)
\n

May float to Non-Invasive Cardiology to assist with:

• IV starts

• Cardiac procedures within scope

Orientation\n

\n
• 2 shifts with a preceptor
\n
• Followed by a supervised "buddy call"
\n
