Job Description
Your day at a glance

From blueprint to finished part, you own the multi‑axis journey. You begin by reviewing work orders, blueprints, orthographic drawings, reference planes, GD&T callouts, and machining parameters. In Mastercam, you generate efficient toolpaths for complex 5‑axis milling, then move to the machine to set tools, apply offsets and compensation, and calculate tooling needs using solid fundamentals in geometry and trigonometry.

With stock models and tooling balls, you 3‑point workpieces and confidently hang large components on horizontal machining centers. Before the first chip flies, you verify head clearance and machine travel and complete a meticulous first‑article and sample check aligned to international standards. As the run proceeds, you track measurements, watch for anomalies, troubleshoot and perform root‑cause analysis, adjust controls or programs, and swap worn tooling while following documented quality procedures.

Safety is constant: you follow all regulations and PPE practices. You execute preventive maintenance in line with Total Productive Maintenance, document actions and non‑conformities to ensure continuity across shifts, and collaborate with Engineering, Programming, Materials, and Quality. Production and quality data are logged in Plex (ERP). You stay sharp through training and proactively seek better ways to add value.

What you will do
  • Program complex 5‑axis toolpaths in Mastercam for parts across Zimmermann, Apec, FPT, and Mecof platforms.
  • Set up machines: tooling, offsets, compensation, probing/verification, and program prove‑outs.
  • Precisely locate work using stock models, tooling balls, and 3‑point methods; rig and hang large parts on HMCs.
  • Validate setups by checking head clearance, travels, first‑run and sample pieces to international standards.
  • Maintain quality by measurement, monitoring, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and control/program updates.
  • Comply with safety procedures and regulations; execute TPM and call out repairs when needed.
  • Document work, irregularities, and ongoing needs; record production and quality results in Plex.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Programming, Materials, and Quality to keep work flowing.
What you bring
  • Minimum 2 years with Mastercam programming for 5‑axis machining.
  • 5+ years hands‑on experience across multiple 5‑axis applications (Zimmermann, Apec, FPT, Mecof).
  • Familiarity with Heidenhain and Fidia controls (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of QMS frameworks (ISO9001/AS9100) and 5S practices; basic fixturing fundamentals.
  • Preferred: overhead crane experience for large‑part handling.
  • Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units; solid geometry/trigonometry; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; read and interpret bar graphs.
  • Able to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions; solve problems with several concrete variables.
  • High accuracy with minimal rework; takes initiative to expand capabilities without direct supervision.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality; collaborative, open to constructive feedback.
  • Adheres to quality and environmental policies with knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001; follows safety, security protocols, and PPE requirements.
Core competencies

Conceptual skills, process improvement mindset, clear verbal communication, functional and technical depth, controls and instrumentation savvy, supply management awareness, tooling knowledge, time management, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

Working conditions and physical demands
