Mortgage Loan Originator

We’re looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator who brings energy, expertise, and a genuine passion for people. In this role, you’ll be both a trusted advisor and a community connector—helping members navigate the mortgage process while building a strong referral network that keeps opportunities flowing.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Building and maintaining relationships with real estate agents, builders, contractors, and community partners to generate new mortgage opportunities
- Guiding members through the mortgage process—from application to closing—with clarity and confidence
- Analyzing financial documents (pay stubs, tax returns, credit reports, etc.) to determine the best loan options
- Making informed recommendations to underwriting partners to support sound credit decisions
- Collaborating closely with processors and underwriters to ensure a smooth and timely loan experience
- Promoting and cross-selling credit union products that genuinely benefit members
- Resolving questions or discrepancies quickly and professionally
- Delivering top-notch service that leaves members feeling supported, informed, and excited
- Have 2–5 years of experience in mortgage lending or a related financial role
- Enjoy networking and building meaningful professional relationships
- Are detail-oriented and confident analyzing financial and credit information
- Can balance multiple loans and deadlines while keeping service levels high
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and with a personal touch
- Are comfortable using loan origination systems, credit tools, and everyday office technology
- Work well independently while also being a strong team player
- Have experience working with Loan Prospector (LP) or similar systems
- Are familiar with Freddie Mac guidelines and mortgage lending regulations
- Have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Love connecting with your community and growing a referral network
- A strong pipeline of mortgage applications built through trusted relationships
- Accurate, complete loan files submitted efficiently and on time
- Smooth collaboration with processors and underwriters resulting in successful closings
- Members who feel confident, cared for, and excited about their home financing journey
- Consistently achieving sales goals while maintaining a member-first mindset
