Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Account Manager Inside – C & D to provide support to one or more facilities. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, developing tailored solutions to meet their waste management, recycling and sustainability goals, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess strong account management skills, industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Account Management and Retention:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts in the market, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
- Regularly call and email clients to review service performance, volume commitments, address concerns, and cross sell opportunities for additional services.
- Proactively manage account renewals, volume commitments, and negotiate contract extensions.
Account Growth and Development:
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand services within existing accounts by understanding client needs and aligning them with company offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized waste recycling and composting solutions that meet client objectives.
- Develop and execute account plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Client Consultation and Expertise:
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing clients with insights into industry trends, regulatory updates, and sustainability best practices.
- Partner with clients to develop and implement waste reduction, recycling, composting and sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct periodic waste and recycling audits and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor account performance, including service delivery, financial metrics, and client satisfaction.
- Prepare and present regular reports to clients, highlighting successes, key metrics, and areas for improvement.
- Use CRM tools to maintain accurate account records and track sales activities.
Collaboration and Problem Solving:
- Work closely with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to resolve service issues and ensure seamless execution of client programs.
- Advocate for client needs within the organization while balancing operational capabilities and business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience in account management, sales, or business development, preferably in the waste and recycling industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of waste management operations, recycling processes, and sustainability practices.
- Demonstrated success in managing accounts and achieving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with clients at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client visits and events.
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
Physical Demands:
- Make sure to list the physical demands, such as push, pull, standing
- Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment:
Combination of office-based and fieldwork, including site visits, trade shows, and community outreach events. Flexible hours, including occasional weekends for events or client meetings.
