What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and related machining equipment to manufacture precision components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions accurately.
- Load raw materials, install tooling, and verify machine setups prior to production runs.
- Monitor machine operation and adjust offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and production quality.
- Perform minor CNC program edits and tooling adjustments as needed to support machining efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and additional precision measuring tools.
- Maintain required tolerances and verify all parts meet quality and performance specifications.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify equipment issues requiring repair or service.
- Accurately document production runs, inspection results, machine adjustments, and operational data.
- Maintain organized workstations and ensure compliance with all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and shop personnel to improve workflow and production efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of CNC machining experience preferred in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of CNC controls, G-code/M-code concepts, machining practices, and tooling applications.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and use precision measuring instruments accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 8–12 hour shifts in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and operating hand tools.
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, metal shavings, lubricants, and varying shop temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules based on production demands.
