Peachtree Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable High School Business Teacher to join our growing team.
This exciting new position was created in response to student interest and feedback. At Peachtree Academy, we are committed to equipping students with practical life skills and career-ready knowledge that will help them thrive in an ever-changing world. Our goal is to provide opportunities that prepare students not only for college, but also for personal and professional success. This position may be part-time or full-time, depending on the qualifications, experience, and skill set of the selected candidate.Salary is based on experience and part time or full time status.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Teach high school students in courses such as:
- Personal Finance and life skills
- Principles of Marketing
- Business and Entrepreneurship
- Technology and Career Readiness
- Evaluate and grade student assignments, projects, presentations, and assessments.
- Develop engaging lesson plans, syllabi, classroom activities, and instructional materials.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions that connect business concepts to real-world applications.
- Encourage critical thinking, leadership, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Stay current with industry trends and educational best practices through professional development, research, conferences, and collaboration with colleagues.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to high school students on topics such as financial accounting, principles of marketing, and technology. Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
- Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and career issues.
- Collaborate with members of the business community to improve programs, to develop new programs, and to provide student access to learning opportunities, such as internships.
- Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
- Select and obtain materials and supplies, such as textbooks.
- Participate in campus and community events.
- Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
- Act as advisers to student organizations.
- Write grant proposals to procure external research funding.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Finance, Technology, or a related field.
Teaching certification preferred, but industry professionals with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Passion for mentoring and inspiring young people.

About Peachtree Prep, our Early Childhood Division
The early childhood division of the school bases its academic program on a weekly unit of study for academic advancement. Teachers use lesson plans to guide the delivery of information and address individual issues of advanced skill levels or areas of improvement that are needed. Parents may supplement the curriculum by bringing in books, materials, or ideas related to the theme for the benefit of the class.
