Job Description
Title: Nut Forming Operator
Shift: 1st Shift (M-F 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM flexible) or 2nd Shift (M-Th 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Salary: $26 - $36/hr, dependent on experience
Nut Forming Operator Role:
Our client is seeking a Nut Forming Operator to set up, adjust, and operate Jern Yao nut formers independently to ensure continuous manufacturing production. This role exists to keep production running efficiently and complete manufacturing jobs through the forming stage with minimal guidance.
Nut Forming Operator Responsibilities:
- Perform complete machine set-ups with the approval of the Lead Operator
- Start up and operate two or more Jern Yao nut formers efficiently
- Conduct regular quality checks as specified on the in-process inspection documentation
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and ensure the general upkeep of the forming area
- Maintain detailed shift communication by utilizing the team logbook
- Assist with the handling, loading, and feeding of raw wire materials
- Execute tooling changes and make minor machine adjustments as needed
- Record statistical process control (SPC) data and complete required system transactions
- Update the lead operator on mechanical developments inside the machine
Nut Forming Operator Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager, Nut Forming Lead, or designated Operator, and does not have any direct reports.
About You:
- Possess two or more years of experience within the cold forming industry
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of blueprints, prints, and technical specifications
- Maintain solid operational knowledge of cold forming equipment and machinery
- Exhibit strong verbal communication skills and a high mechanical aptitude
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to daily production challenges
- Hold preferred training in quality control or additional cold forming coursework

Additional Information:
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 lbs, operate a crane, tow motor, and lift truck, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Working Conditions: Must be comfortable working around large equipment in a hot, oily, and noisy environment where all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided
