Job Description

Job Description
A Day in This Role

You clock in, review the day’s work orders, and run your hand over a freshly prepped surface. You’ve already chosen the right grit for sanding, cleaned every edge, and masked complex contours. Next comes mixing the coating to exact specs—viscosity right where you want it—then applying it with the technique that best fits the job: spray, brush, or roll. You check mil thickness, verify color and finish, and sign off only when it meets the standard you’d want your name on.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare parts and assemblies by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to specification.
  • Mix paints, primers, and specialty coatings to formula, adjusting for temperature, humidity, and application method.
  • Apply finishes using a range of industrial techniques and tools to achieve the required coverage, texture, and durability.
  • Inspect completed work against technical specifications and quality criteria; correct defects as needed.
  • Keep your booth and shop area orderly and safe, following established safety protocols at all times.
  • Coordinate with teammates and leads to hit production schedules without compromising quality.
  • Perform routine care and basic troubleshooting on spray guns, pumps, and other coating equipment; escalate issues promptly.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional trade or coatings training is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in industrial painting or a closely related finishing role.
  • Solid grasp of coating materials, surface prep methods, application techniques, and safety best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and finish specifications.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a personal commitment to high-quality results.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach on the shop floor.
  • Physical endurance, including the ability to lift and move heavy materials when required.
Fluencies That Will Set You Up for Success
  • Quality inspection experience
  • Equipment troubleshooting
  • Mixing and blending
  • Industrial and commercial painting
