Companion Caregiver, Personal Assistant for Senior
Location: Iuka, MS

• Schedule: Part-Time | Flexible Days and Times

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and trustworthy Companion Caregiver to assist an elderly woman living independently in Iuka, Mississippi. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys spending time with seniors and providing companionship while helping with transportation, light housekeeping, errands, meal preparation, and occasional personal assistance
• Family members remain actively involved and will continue to visit and provide support as needed. We are looking for someone who can become a friendly, reliable part of her routine and help her maintain her independence and quality of life

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Companionship & Social Engagement

• Provide companionship and friendly conversation
• Spend quality time together during visits
• Play cards and other simple games
• Accompany client on errands and outings
• Encourage social interaction and engagement
• Provide a positive, caring presence

Transportation & Errands

• Drive client to bi-weekly hair appointments
• Transport to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, and nail appointments as needed
• Transport to medical appointments, including: Family Physician in Iuka, MS | Oncologist in Corinth, MS | Cardiologist in Corinth, MS | Dentist in Corinth, MS
• Pick up prescriptions and medications as needed
• Assist client when using a walker or light wheelchair

Household Duties

• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean kitchen and bathroom
• Empty trash
• Remove expired food from refrigerator every other week
• Complete on-site coin laundry
• General housekeeping and organization

Meal Preparation

• Prepare simple meals
• Assist with meal planning and food preparation
• Help ensure groceries and basic food items are available

Personal Assistance

• Assist with dressing when needed
• Assist with hair and light grooming
• Client independently performs her own sink baths and does not require shower assistance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable, insured vehicle
• Ability to safely assist someone using a walker or light wheelchair
• Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Kind, patient, and compassionate personality
• Previous caregiving, senior care, companion care, or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Ability to provide references
• Background check may be required

SCHEDULE:

• Part-time position averaging approximately 3-4 hours per week
• Flexible days and times based on the caregiver's availability and the client's needs
• Schedule can be coordinated around appointments, errands, and household tasks
• Approximately 4 hours one week for housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, companionship, and household support
• Approximately 3 hours the following week for hair appointments, shopping, errands, and companionship
• Occasional additional hours may be available for doctor appointments or special needs

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Family members remain actively involved and will continue to visit and assist as needed
• We are seeking a long-term caregiver who can provide reliable support, companionship, and help maintain independence
• Flexibility is available regarding scheduling for the right candidate
• Mileage reimbursement may be available for longer medical appointments outside of Iuka

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with seniors and helping them remain independent. The ideal candidate is warm, patient, reliable, and enjoys conversation, companionship, and activities such as playing cards. We are seeking someone who will not only assist with daily tasks but also provide friendship, encouragement, and a positive presence.
