Job Description
We are seeking a talented, passionate Chef/Cook to join the culinary team at an elegant cocktail lounge inside a historic Hotel in beautiful Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. You'll step into a world where old-world charm meets modern elegance. Beneath a stunning chandelier that casts a warm, inviting glow, our intimate lounge offers refined relaxation with plush furnishings, soft jazz, and attentive service. Our menu celebrates classic cocktails with a contemporary twist—using premium spirits, fresh seasonal ingredients, and creative flair—alongside a curated selection of fine wines and local craft beers. Guests include hotel visitors and locals who come for romantic evenings, celebrations, or a sophisticated night out.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare high-quality, refined dishes for the cocktail lounge menu — including elevated small plates, bar snacks, appetizers, and seasonal specialties that complement our craft cocktails
- Maintain consistent execution of recipes while showcasing creativity and attention to presentation
- Work with fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and kitchen organization
- Collaborate closely with the bartending and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of professional cooking experience in upscale restaurants, hotels, or cocktail lounges (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of classic techniques, modern plating, and flavor profiles
- Passion for creating food that enhances the lounge’s sophisticated cocktail experience
- Ability to handle a varied menu for evening lounge offerings and private events
- Professional, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a small, high-standard kitchen
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification is a plus
