Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Louisiana licensed Emergency Medicine physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Louisiana. Join a full-service critical access hospital emergency department supporting a mix of acute medical and surgical presentations. This role provides structured coverage with physician-led emergency care and defined support from advanced practice providers.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Raceland, Louisiana
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Critical access hospital emergency department
• Coverage: Ongoing
• Coverage Model: 24-hour physician coverage with additional NP/PA coverage
• ED Beds: 6 total (including fast track and ICU beds)
• Annual ED Volume: 19,000

Clinical Scope

• Emergency department evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition
• Management of acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Care coordination for admissions, transfers, and discharges as clinically appropriate
• Documentation and order entry within EPIC
• Collaboration with NP/PA, nursing, and hospital-based support teams

Schedule Details

• Physician coverage: 24 hours
• NP/PA coverage: 10 hours

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license
• Active DEA license with a Louisiana address
• Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Completion of residency training in EM, FM, or IM
• Recent or ongoing Emergency Medicine experience required for non-EM boarded providers
• Must have required documentation available for presentation, including active license and board certification status

• Experience in emergency medicine across a broad range of acute presentations
