Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking California-licensed anesthesiologists for a locum tenens assignment in Eureka, California. This role involves inpatient anesthesiology services in a hospital setting, requiring providers to work nights and weekends as part of a flexible, ongoing coverage schedule.
Opportunity Highlights

- Ongoing coverage approximately 1-2 weeks per month
- Night and weekend call coverage required
- Shift structure includes clinic and call, with traditional in-house and on-call periods
- Active California medical license required
Schedule Details
- Coverage Type: Inpatient, clinic and call
- Shift times vary between OB shifts (7am-3pm in-house, 3pm-7pm on call) and evening shifts (3pm-11pm in-house, 11pm-7am on call)
- Provider minimum 7-14 shifts per month
- Guaranteed hours: 8 hours per shift
- Overtime hours (over 12 hours daily) must be pre-approved by the medical director
Clinical Scope
- Administration of anesthesia for surgical procedures
- Pre-operative assessment and post-operative care
- Management of anesthesia during inpatient procedures
- Collaboration with surgical teams, nursing, and support staff
- Documentation within hospital EMR systems
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Active and unrestricted California medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (truly BE acceptable)
- Skills and certifications as required for inpatient anesthesiology practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous inpatient anesthesiology experience in hospital or surgical settings
- Willingness to work night and weekend shifts as scheduled
- Comfort with shared shift schedules and call responsibilities
