Job Description
Construction Project Supervisor / Lead Foreman (Concrete)
Cogbill’s Concrete Corp – Central Texas
Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Construction Project Supervisor / Lead Foreman to take ownership of active concrete projects in the field while helping drive consistency, production, and project execution across multiple crews.
This is a field-first leadership role for someone who can run work in real time—not just supervise it. You’ll be responsible for keeping jobs moving, solving problems on-site, and ensuring crews are building to spec, on schedule, and at a high standard of quality.
You will act as the key link between field operations and management, helping stabilize production and reduce day-to-day decision bottlenecks at the owner level.
This role begins with a 3-month working probation period, with transition into a salary-based leadership position based on performance and reliability.
Core Responsibilities
1. Field Leadership (Primary Focus – Daily Jobsite Control)
You will be responsible for running multiple active concrete operations, including:
- Managing 2–3 crews or job sites simultaneously
- Coordinating directly with general contractors, builders, and site supervisors
- Driving schedule adherence and daily production goals
- Enforcing quality standards, specs, and finish expectations
- Leading foremen and labor crews through daily execution
- Identifying and resolving jobsite issues before they impact schedule or cost
- Maintaining safety compliance and jobsite discipline
2. Hands-On Field Execution (As Needed)
This is still a field role when required. You are expected to step in and lead critical layout and control work, including:
- Layout verification, square checks, and control lines
- Batter board setup and elevation confirmation
- Grade and dimension verification
- Real-time problem solving with crews in the field
- Supporting crews during pours, forms, and critical phases
3. Operational & Project Support (Secondary / Off-Peak)
During slower production periods or between pours, you will support project and company operations:
Estimating / Preconstruction
- Performing takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu
- Reviewing plans, specs, and details for constructability
- Assisting with material quantities and job planning
- Supporting schedule development and sequencing
Field-Based Business Development
- Conducting jobsite drive-bys and identifying new opportunities
- Meeting with builders, GCs, and potential clients when needed
- Supporting relationship building with repeat customers
- Representing the company professionally in field interactions
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who operates well under real jobsite pressure and can lead from the front.
You should have:
- Strong background in concrete construction (flatwork, foundations, or structural)
- Proven experience running crews or leading active projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and details
- Strong understanding of layout, measurements, and field accuracy
- Confidence making decisions in real-time without waiting for direction
- Ability to communicate clearly with builders, inspectors, and crews
- Willingness to mentor and develop younger foremen
Bonus Skills (Not Required but Valuable)
- Experience with Bluebeam or digital takeoff software
- Estimating or preconstruction experience
- Client-facing communication or sales experience
- Multi-crew coordination or superintendent-level exposure
What This Role Is
This is not a “watch the jobsite” position.
It is a field command role—built for someone who can keep multiple jobs moving, solve problems on-site, and take ownership of execution.
