Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, managing a patient population with a variety of medical conditions
• Work within an Observation/ER Overflow unit focused on continuous reassessment of patient readiness for discharge, supporting rapid admission and discharge workflows
• Maintain staffing ratios of 1:5–6 at night, with potential flex to 1:8 when paired with an LPN for support
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs to deliver safe, quality patient care
• Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed, typically approximately once per week based on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Ability to float to other units and work with a variety of clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs)
• Willingness to work every other weekend and provide holiday coverage with scheduling flexibility
• Proof of flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Experience in an Observation or ER Overflow unit setting
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with rapid patient turnover
