Retail Pharmacist in Canby, CA

A retail pharmacist position is available in Canby, CA, on a contract basis for a duration of 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible. This role operates Monday through Friday during daytime shifts under the guidance of the Retail Pharmacy Manager. The pharmacist will manage all retail pharmaceutical services, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications.
• Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy and clarify any discrepancies.
• Direct pharmacy technicians in preparation of medications.
• Provide patient counseling regarding drug interactions, side effects, and dosage upon acceptance.
• Maintain quality assurance and security for controlled substances.
• Manage pharmacy records, billing, and inventory systems.
• Train and supervise pharmacy interns and staff while adhering to required ratios.
• Resolve third-party prescription system issues promptly.
• Report prescription errors and adhere to medication incident protocols.
• Foster professional relationships with healthcare providers.
• Promote pharmacy services and customer engagement programs.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization within the pharmacy.
• Adapt to changes, handle customer concerns diplomatically, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license in the State of California.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regulating retail pharmacy.
• Demonstrated continuing education commitment.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
