Job Title: Production Machine Operator
Job Description
Join a collaborative, team-oriented manufacturing environment supporting the construction industry as a Production Machine Operator. In this hands-on role, you will prepare and assemble steel materials for large-scale construction projects while operating production machinery and rotating through a variety of tasks. You will train on first shift for several weeks before moving to second shift, working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with clear opportunities for growth and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cut, and process steel materials used in construction assemblies according to specifications and quality standards.
- Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, with full training provided.
- Rotate between multiple production tasks to support workflow, meet deadlines, and maintain team efficiency.
- Perform general production and assembly work, including packing, fabrication, and use of hand and power tools.
- Use basic measuring tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy.
- Assist with machine operation such as shears, press machines, saws, and other fabrication equipment as needed.
- Support construction-related production tasks, including framing, carpentry-related operations, and material handling.
- Perform general labor tasks such as yard work, site cleanup, and organizing materials to maintain a safe and orderly work area.
- Work closely with teammates to meet production targets, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Adapt to changing production needs, including rotating tasks and working mandated overtime when required.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience working in manufacturing, production, construction, or a similar hands-on role preferred.
- Ability and willingness to perform fast-paced, physically demanding work for the duration of the shift.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate production machinery, including shears, presses, and saws.
- Ability to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools accurately.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a production environment.
- Reliable attendance and the flexibility to work mandated overtime, including 10-hour shifts and occasional Saturdays.
- Positive attitude with a willingness and eagerness to learn new skills and tasks.
- Ability to work safely in a non-climate-controlled facility that can become very hot in the summer.
- Comfort working a 2nd shift schedule after completion of initial training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with general labor tasks such as yard work, site cleanup, or material handling.
- Previous experience with machine operation or general production work in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools in a work or project environment.
- Willingness to rotate between different tasks and learn multiple positions within the production process.

Work Environment
This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility that can become very hot in the summer, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. You will work around production machinery, fabrication equipment, and hand and power tools in a busy, fast-paced environment that emphasizes safety and teamwork. Training takes place on 1st shift for approximately 1–4 weeks. After training, the regular schedule is 2nd shift: Monday–Thursday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM and Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a shift differential for off-shift work. Mandated overtime may be required, with schedules posted the Thursday prior, and you must be open to 10-hour shifts, occasional Saturday work, and availability from approximately 3:00 PM to 2:30 AM when overtime is scheduled. The environment is active and production-focused, requiring adherence to safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
