Retail Pharmacist - Likely, California

A Retail Pharmacist position is available in Alturas, CA, offering a 13-week contract opportunity starting ASAP. This role operates Monday through Friday on day shifts and requires a licensed pharmacist to oversee all retail pharmaceutical services under the direction of the Retail Pharmacy Manager. The pharmacist ensures compliance with state and federal regulations while managing procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and manage pharmaceutical inventory.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy and ensure correct formulations.
• Direct pharmacy staff in preparing and labeling medications.
• Provide drug information and counseling to patients when appropriate.
• Maintain adherence to quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous waste procedures.
• Oversee pharmacy record-keeping, third-party billing, and resolve prescription issues.
• Participate in training pharmacy interns and staff, maintaining compliance with pharmacist-to-technician ratios.
• Foster positive relationships with healthcare professionals and customers, delivering quality service.
• Stay current with pharmacy laws, policies, and continuing education to ensure competence.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing retail pharmacy services.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of data analysis for pharmacy operations.
• Ability to manage time effectively and collaborate with multi-level teams.
