About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC
You'll support the planning, design, and implementation of security systems across a range of real-world projects. This role blends AutoCAD drafting, field coordination, and exposure to security operations, with a clear path toward project management and design leadership.
What You'll Do
Develop and modify AutoCAD drawings for security and technology systems
Support site plans, device layouts, and infrastructure design
Coordinate with security, IT, facilities, and project stakeholders
Participate in project meetings and support implementation efforts
Learn and contribute to security system design (access control, video surveillance, etc.)
Support project tracking, documentation, and coordination across teams
Develop AutoCAD and GIS-based maps supporting emergency response and incident planning
Produce layouts for major events (inaugurations, demonstrations, state events, etc.)
Support rapid updates to mapping during evolving situations
Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency management, and facilities teams
Maintain standardized templates and mapping protocols
Participate in planning meetings and translate feedback into updated visuals
What We're Looking For
1-5 years of AutoCAD experience (MEP, telecom, or low voltage preferred)
Interest in security systems, technology design, or the built environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment
Strong communication and coordination skills
Willingness to learn and grow into broader design and project responsibilities
Nice to Have
Experience with low voltage systems (security, telecom, AV)
Exposure to construction documents or design-build environments
Interest in public safety or government-related projects
