Job Description
Join a dynamic retail pharmacy setting in Alturas, CA, as a licensed pharmacist driving exceptional pharmaceutical services. This 13-week contract opportunity offers a Monday to Friday day shift, starting ASAP, to apply your expertise in delivering safe, compliant, and patient-centered care under the guidance of the Retail Pharmacy Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all retail pharmaceutical operations, including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications.
- Review and accurately dispense prescriptions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Counsel patients regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosages, and storage, fostering engagement with pharmacy programs.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, interns, and technicians while maintaining compliance with pharmacist-to-staff ratios.
- Manage quality assurance, controlled substance security, hazardous waste disposal, and loss prevention.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Maintain pharmacy records and handle third-party prescription processing and rejections efficiently.
- Stay current with evolving pharmacy laws, programs, and best practices through continuing education.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, resolving complex or sensitive situations professionally.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of California.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels.
- Commitment to maintaining ongoing professional development and regulatory compliance.
