This role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining looms to ensure consistent, high-quality fabric production at optimal performance levels. The Machine Operator supports production targets, contributes to continuous improvement in quality and safety, and helps develop technical skills within the production team.
Responsibilities
- Set up looms and related equipment to meet production specifications and ensure consistent fabric quality.
- Monitor all looms during operation to maintain optimal performance and quickly identify any issues.
- Inspect fabrics and production output regularly to verify they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform maintenance and repair on looms as needed, following approved maintenance standards and procedures.
- Communicate maintenance schedules and machine breakdowns clearly with production technicians and other relevant personnel.
- Identify and report trends in loom breakdowns or recurring issues to support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure production plans and output targets are achieved.
- Work closely with health, safety, and quality personnel to support and maintain the effective performance of the quality system.
- Train and support team members in developing technical skills within the production environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Use computer-controlled systems, including CNC or similar controls, to operate and adjust machines as required.
- Proven experience working in a production environment, preferably with machinery or similar equipment.
- Hands-on machine operating experience, including setup, operation, and monitoring of production machines.
- Quality inspection experience, including the ability to visually and mechanically inspect products for defects and compliance.
- Machine setup skills, including adjusting settings and tooling to meet production requirements.
- Experience with computer-controlled equipment, including CNC or similar control systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve machine issues efficiently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Experience working with stitching or textile-related processes is a plus.
- Associate degree preferred, particularly in a technical, mechanical, or manufacturing-related field.
- Experience in a climate-controlled, clean production environment is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to support and train others in technical tasks within a production setting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as machine setup, monitoring, and maintenance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $41600.00/yr.
