Step into a precision-driven 2nd shift

Picture this: you arrive for your 2nd shift, load the first run, verify offsets, and keep multiple CNC machines humming in sync. You spot a tool wear trend before it becomes an issue, swap inserts, log the change, and keep production flowing—safely, accurately, and efficiently. That's the cadence of our CNC Horizontal Machining Center Setup Specialist.

This position is 2nd shift.

What you'll do
  • Set up and run CNC horizontal machining centers with repeatable precision.
  • Load/unload fixtures, workholding, cutting tools, and CNC programs for each job.
  • Tune and adjust cutting tools and offsets to maintain quality.
  • Follow standardized work, document production/quality data, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Use and interpret inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions.
  • Perform routine machine care and basic troubleshooting while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Pitch in with additional tasks as needed.
What you bringEducation & Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical school or vocational coursework in machining/manufacturing/CNC preferred.
  • NIMS or equivalent CNC machining certification is a plus.
Experience
  • 1–3 years operating CNC machines—ideally horizontal machining centers—with proven setup ability.
  • Hands-on experience adjusting tooling and reading/interpreting CNC programs.
  • Comfort inspecting parts with precision metrology tools.
Skills
  • Read/interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Solid math and mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance and common machine troubleshooting.
  • Computer literacy for program loading and data entry.
