Job Description
Step into the role

As our Reliability Maintenance Planning Specialist, you orchestrate the flow of maintenance work from request to execution. You’ll begin by reviewing non-emergency work requests, visiting job sites to validate conditions, refine scope, and capture requirements. From there, you estimate labor hours and trades, identify parts, materials, and equipment, and determine any specialty tools needed to deliver proactive, safe, and efficient work.

A day in the life
  • Translate work requests into actionable job plans with clearly defined scope, resources, and safety requirements.
  • Pull drawings, schematics, specifications, spare-part lists, OEM manuals, and Knowledgebase items; confirm part availability before scheduling; arrange auxiliary equipment and special tools when needed.
  • Prioritize and organize the work order backlog, maintaining a Ready Backlog of 80% or higher.
  • Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings with Production to align priorities, communicate status, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Publish a Weekly Technician Schedule that loads planned work and PMs to utilize 100% of available technician labor hours.
  • Continuously improve job plans through a structured review process and maintenance metrics to elevate schedule effectiveness.
  • Maintain records and files that support meaningful analysis and reporting on maintenance performance.
  • Coach site personnel on CMMS usage, data integrity, and best practices to ensure the system is fully leveraged.
What you bring
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline plus 1–3 years in maintenance planning/scheduling; or 5–10 years as a machine repair technician; or an equivalent blend of both.
  • Comfort within an industrial manufacturing setting with solid electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with computers, CMMS/maintenance applications, and Microsoft Office.
  • Clear, confident verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain strong, professional working relationships.
Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in job plan development, scheduling, and work execution coordination.
