About this job
Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Freight Broker to develop new shipper relationships, grow a profitable book of business, and manage transportation services from initial quote through final delivery.
This is a full-cycle logistics sales role—not an account support or carrier-only position. You will be responsible for prospecting new customers, closing business, negotiating rates, coordinating freight, protecting margins, and building long-term client relationships.
The ideal candidate has direct freight brokerage or transportation sales experience and understands both sides of the business: generating revenue and ensuring each shipment is executed successfully. This opportunity offers significant autonomy and uncapped earning potential for a broker who is motivated by measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and secure new shipper accounts through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship development
- Build, manage, and expand a profitable book of business
- Identify customer shipping needs and develop competitive transportation solutions
- Prepare freight quotes and negotiate rates with customers and carriers
- Source and qualify carriers based on pricing, capacity, reliability, and service requirements
- Manage shipments from booking and pickup through tracking, delivery, and final issue resolution
- Monitor market conditions, lane pricing, capacity, and margin opportunities
- Maintain consistent communication with customers and carriers throughout each shipment
- Resolve service failures, delays, claims, and operational challenges quickly and professionally
- Track prospecting activity, revenue, gross profit, margins, and account performance within CRM and transportation systems
- Grow existing accounts through repeat business, additional lanes, and expanded transportation services
- Maintain accountability for customer retention, shipment execution, revenue production, and gross profit
Requirements
- 2+ years of freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation sales experience
- Direct experience prospecting for new business and closing shipper accounts
- Strong understanding of freight markets, carrier sourcing, lane pricing, and margin management
- Ability to manage the complete freight lifecycle from quote through final delivery
- Proven negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain consistent outbound sales activity
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and active shipments
- Comfortable working in a performance-based environment with clearly defined revenue and margin expectations
- Direct freight brokerage or logistics industry experience required; general sales experience without transportation exposure will not be considered
Benefits
- $72,000 draw, approximately $1,500 per week
- Commission of up to 20% of gross profit
- Uncapped earning potential
- Health insurance and benefits package
- Retirement plan options
- Paid time off
This opportunity is best suited for an experienced Freight Broker who wants control over their sales pipeline, earning potential, customer relationships, and long-term account growth.
