Pharmacy Technician


We are hiring several Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and prepare prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing and packaging.
  • Maintain accurate patient and prescription records.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and expiration date monitoring.
  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues when applicable.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and assist patients with pharmacy-related questions.
  • Adhere to all state, federal, HIPAA, and facility regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
  • Assist with quality assurance activities and inventory audits.
  • Support pharmacists with daily operational and administrative functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent pharmacy technician experience.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure as required by state law.
  • Experience working in retail, hospital, outpatient, mail-order, or specialty pharmacy settings preferred.


Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification (CPhT); or
  • Current National Healthcareer Association (NHA) ExCPT certification.

Certification must be maintained and remain active throughout employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication preparation, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and electronic medical records.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to handle medications and pharmacy equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital or government healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of controlled substance handling procedures.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • 5 Days per Week, both day and evening shifts available.
  • 8-Hour Shifts
  • Occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as required


Compensation dependent upon certification and experience - up to $22.00/hour
