About the Role

A growing medical technology manufacturer specializing in advanced proton therapy systems is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. This role will lead site-wide EHS programs, ensure full regulatory compliance, and drive a strong safety culture in a highly regulated manufacturing environment supporting global cancer treatment technology.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities teams to reduce risk, improve operational safety, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NRC, and DOT requirements, including radiation safety considerations tied to proton therapy systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the facility's EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NRC, DOT, and applicable state/local regulations
  • Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and risk mitigation activities
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Manage EHS reporting, permits, audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
  • Deliver safety training (new hire, annual, and task-specific programs)
  • Support safe introduction of new equipment, processes, and facility changes
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Track and report EHS performance metrics to leadership
  • Promote a proactive safety and compliance culture across the site

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of EHS experience in medical device manufacturing or closely regulated environments (pharma, biotech, nuclear medicine, radiation-device manufacturing, GMP manufacturing)
  • Proven experience owning and implementing site-level EHS programs in manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
  • Experience with incident investigations, hazard analysis, audits, permits, and safety training programs

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with NRC or radiation safety principles in regulated environments
  • Prior responsibility for multi-regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC)
  • Experience supporting engineering/manufacturing integration of EHS into new systems or processes
