Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher

About the Role:

We are hiring an experienced Dispatch Coordinator to support daily port operations and ensure top-tier service for both customers and drivers. This role serves as the main communication link between all parties, coordinating port pick-ups, customer deliveries, and empty returns efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and manage port pick-ups, deliveries, and empty returns within free-time windows
• Communicate with customers and drivers via phone, email, and in person
• Respond promptly to inquiries and maintain excellent email etiquette
• Record and track all customer interactions and updates
• Follow up on customer requests and ensure timely resolution
• Recommend operational improvements to leadership
• Adapt to last-minute changes in schedules or customer needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge/experience with the Port of Houston
• Lynx software experience
• Experience with Profit Tools preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
• Positive, adaptable, and detail-oriented
