Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Shipping Associate/Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, handling steel coils using warehouse equipment, performing quality inspections, completing shipping documentation, and maintaining an organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment while working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling & Shipping
  • Safely load and unload inbound and outbound trucks.
  • Unload production lines and transport steel coils to designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and other warehouse machinery.
  • Ensure all materials are properly stored, identified, and secured according to company procedures.
  • Verify products against pick tickets and shipping documentation prior to loading.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is required.
  • Must be able to train in 1st shift.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material-handling experience.
  • Ability to read and understand pick tickets, shipping documents, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.


Quality Control & Inspection

  • Inspect all steel coils associated with pick tickets for accuracy and quality.
  • Measure coils to confirm specifications, dimensions, and order requirements.
  • Report any damaged, defective, or non-conforming materials to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and measurements.


Documentation & Administrative Duties

  • Complete all required paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Verify load accuracy and shipping information before truck departure.
  • Ensure drivers receive all necessary shipping and receiving documents.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records as required.
