Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix issues such as broken sprinkler heads, leaking pipes, bad valves, and damaged wiring.
- Installation: Map out areas and physically lay underground pipes, drip lines, pumps, and water timers.
- Programming & Controls: Program irrigation controllers and computerized water management systems to maximize water conservation and plant health.
- Seasonal Servicing: Perform system "blowouts" and winterization in the fall, and handle spring startups.
- Customer Service: Advise clients on system enhancements and communicate service updates effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of water management, hydraulics, pipe fitting, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Equipment Proficiency: Ability to safely operate soldering tools, multi-meters, pipe cutters, and trenchers.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to perform regular manual labor outdoors, frequently lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Certifications: Certifications like Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) from organizations like the Irrigation Association are highly valued.
